Log a cost in the currency you actually paid it in. Giterra converts it into the trip's currency using the rate at the time and keeps that rate attached to the expense. A settlement two weeks later still matches what your bank charged, because the number never quietly moves underneath you.

At any point in the trip, every person has one number: what they owe, or what they are owed. Giterra reduces the tangle of who-paid-for-whom into the smallest set of payments that clears it, and each one gets marked as settled when the money actually moves.
